Life is a choice
In our daily lives，we have many choices to make，such as what to eat for supper，what clothes to wear，or what to do on weekends. At certain times in our lives，we need to make even more critical choices，such as which school to attend，what job to take or who to choose as husband or wife.
Yes，life is a mater of choice. Seemingly，it means a choice of tangible things. But in essence，it means choosing a way of life. Life is to be lived，saved，and enjoyed，not to be wasted or complained about. Hardly can we forget the time when our society faced the grave threat from the life-and-death disease-SARS. Yet，even during those dreadful times，some afflicted people remained optimistic. Instead of wearing neutral white masks，some people turned to colorful ones and thus display a happy mood. And some creative people dubbed SARS to mean“Smile And Remain Smiling .” I was deeply touched by their optimistic，nearly forgetting that we are still in a battle，people who survive these kinds of circumstances，decide in their minds to carry on in spite of the overwhelming odds.
Laid-off workers typically regarded as the victims of economic advancement，are subject to desperation that being unemployed has brought on them. But encouragingly，we have witnessed some of them striving hard to rebuild confidence toward life and discover new opportunities for demonstrating their values.
Although we cannot choose our appearance，inborn gifts and even avoid unexpected disasters and adversities，we do have the privilege to choose to live optimistically，to love our lives，to have dreams，and to cherish hopes.
Every morning when we get up，we have a choice of how we want to approach life that day. As for me，I choose to be cheerful.

Life is never just being. It is a becoming， a relentless flow. Our parents live on through us， and we will live on through our children. The institutions we build endure， and we will endure through them. The beauty we fashion cannot be dimmed by death. Our flesh may perish， our hands will wither， but that which they create in beauty and goodness and truth lives on for all time to come.
Don’t spend and waste your lives accumulating objects that will only turn to dust and ashes. Pursue not so much the material as the ideal， for ideals alone invest life with meaning and are of enduring worth.
Add love to a house and you have a home. Add righteousness to a city and you have a community. Add truth to a pile of red bricks and you have a school. Add religion to the humblest of edifices and you have a sanctuary. Add justice， to the far-flung round of human endeavors and you have civilization. Put them all together， exalt them above their present imperfections， add to them the vision of humankind redeemed， forever free of need and strife and you have a future lighted with the radiant colors of hope.

When we are chatting with our friends happily， suddenly if we are talking about the awkward topic， we need to do something to change this situation， what are we gonna do？ The answer is using your humor to make things seem easy， and then your friends won’t take your awkward topic seriously. Humor is very important， it can adjust the atmosphere， making things work easily. Life needs humor， without humor， life would be boring. Foreign people like to make friends with humorous people， they can feel relax when they are chatting， while most Chinese people are always taking things too seriously. I like to make friends with humorous guys， they make me feel life is easy， and we should positive about life.

My life
My future house is wide and spacious. It contains a lot of room such as swim pool， exercise room which contains a plenty of exercise machines， and a big play land so I can play inside the house no matter what time i play， it always open for me.
Everything inside the house will be clean of themselves so I don't have to wash them. The tables are new， the computer is the coolest and the tv channels are enjoyable to watch. I want the background of the wall is mysterious and pretty and different in every single room.
My future house will prevent the volcano blow and the tsunami or flood attack. It has the emergency exit and security alarm so everything will be safe！

Choice in My Life
ladies and gentlemen， teachers， my fellow students:
i am very excited and feel it's a great honor to stand here to deliver my speech. what i'm going to talk about is "choice in my life"
i can still remember the first time i failed in a singing contest. i immediately ran to my grandma， shedding lots of tears of course！ i cried loudly and could hardly utter a word！
then， badly needed comforting words and touch came from grandma. i gradually regained my sense of pride and a sensible control of my feelings. yet， head down， i said: "grandma， i have no choice， and i have to give up， right？" "look at me， my dear！"she said gently. i looked up， straight into her eyes. what i saw was a shining， sweet， and loving stream from the bottom of her heart！ then， there came the gentle voice of hers: "no， no， no…" her head shaking， while eyes smiling. "why don't you give more attention to the details？" she continued.
no other words were needed any more！ i started practicing and rehearsing once again， paying special attention to those little things that i used to ignore. as a consequence， my overall performance was quickly elevated to a new high！ without much trouble， in another singing contest held months later， i won！
what do i learn from this experience？ never give up lightly！ life's full of opportunities， and lots of them！ to realize your dreams and fulfill your potential， you must learn to work hard and smart and steer your lifeboat wisely！ as a li ling's sportswear commercial goes "everything is possible！" but not without sweat， devotion， and tears sometimes！
life is a long journey， during which we are surely going to face many challenges， experience lots of failures， and equally， many opportunities are waving to us， while sweet rewards are waiting for us！ to transform these opportunities into fruitful results， or turn those challenges and failures into valuable assets， we must learn to seize the good ones and not to retreat lightly in front of difficulties.
